Since winning awards at the Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors, France (1980), as well as the Hungarian Television International Conductors’ Competition (1983), Irishman Robert Houlihan’s career has taken him to conduct leading orchestras in France, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela and South Africa.  It was in July 2000 that Robert made his American debut conducting at the ‘Mozart Festival’ at Woodstock, Illinois.
